I love the quote! But I'm guessing she is speaking of a painting that someone else has done. How much stronger is the feeling when you yourself have created the image!
Now that I am making one-of-a-kind pieces, instead of straight photos, I know that feeling of attachment and having trouble letting go of an original that has, yes, become like a friend!
