 this is the 4th year that i've donated a drawing to the california wildlife center in malibu. all of these drawings were animals that were once patients at the center and then released back into the wild. pretty awesome huh! i tell you i love this place, from the director to the vets to all the volunteers, they are just incredible and so, so dedicated.

i feel very privileged to be able to help them out in raising money for their facility at their annual fund raiser called the wild brunch.

etsy treasury

this morning i opened my email and found out that i've been featured in an etsy treasury by lillya!! YAY! i'm second row, third one over...if you didn't recognize my drawing. i'm very grateful for being included cuz i think this is a pretty cool treasury if you ask me!!

plus, i learned something new this morning as well! i wanted to capture the image on my blog to show you, so i went to the etsy forums to find the answer on how to copy the image and only half an hour later...ta dah... i figured it out! i did it through a program called jing. very user friendly...try it out.

i'm very happy cuz my week is starting out on a pretty high note!:-)

saturday meandering

only a scattering of saffron and white flowers left in the mountains...mostly dry, crunchy weeds now. so sad! but i'm still finding things to photograph as it is forever changing! that's amazing to me, how quickly some flowers die off and others appear...just from weekend to weekend.

also on this sweltering hot saturday, i met up with 3 of my fellow classmates from the flying lessons e-course with kelly rae. it was really wonderful meeting these creative souls, talking about sales, packaging, art and much, much more over passion fruit ice tea and spinach quiche! i so hope we can do it again.

and i have to tell you, lately the sale of my drawings on etsy and commissions are just falling into my lap, with little effort on my part...it truly is awesome! nice to have the extra money as i seem to be spending it pretty fast getting ready for my trip!

after 2 months of one left-brain class after another, most of them actually over lapping, i am trying to slow down a bit, catch my breath and just absorb the abundance of information i have learned. now that kelly's e-course is over, i am on my very last thing for awhile...theta healing with brent phillips. then i am 100% done and will start implementing all the incredible tools i now have in my arsenal.



i've made the decision that i will jump full force into my new art line when i get back from my trip to africa in mid-august. it seemed a bit silly to start everything just to put it all on hold for 3 weeks! this way it will be seamless! at least that's my plan!

this weekend i am off to colorado for a get together with 5 of my college roommates!! boy oh boy oh boy am i excited to see them!!! i really, really am!!

i never did share the finished drawing of sassy and maggie with you...so...TA DA...!!

they are on their way to my lovely client, who worked very hard to get me the best photos she possibly could! i realize how hard it is for people to get good photos of their pets, that's why the toy poodle commission is officially on hold now, because the photos were just not clear and detailed enough for me to work with. hopefully it'll happen down the road as they were quite adorable!

and...i just wanted to share this absolutely wonderful news that i've been excited about all morning long: gov. arnold schwarzenegger signed a bill so that california will officially become a cage-free state in 2015. YAY, way to go arnie!! that makes me very happy!
