it was so wonderful to be back in wisconsin again after being away for over 3 years (since my mom passed away). i had one of the best times of my life with my sisters and cousins at my cousin gregg's beautiful rustic cabin in the upper part of the state. we laughed until our stomachs hurt, played lots of cards, took long trips in the boat with the beatles blaring, kayaked around the islands, drank more wine and margaritas then i think i care to admit, had one outrageous sunset after another and just had a carefree, fun time! and...i hope to do it all over again next year!plans are already in the making!!

the best medicine
i have a running start on Lulu and a little bit more done on the hawk drawing...
i wish it was more but this has been my life lately!
a nasty cold/flu thingy that took me out for 3 days and is keeping me coughing up a lung for the past 6! ugh!

oodles of drawings to work on!
well...i got pretty far (finished the lower right corner) but now this drawing is put on hold for awhile so i can work on this:
this is my 6th year of donating a drawing to the California Wildlife Center for their annual auction. each year i create a portrait of one of their rescue animals...this year it's a hawk! they will be auctioning it off at their annual wild brunch fundraiser on september 16th. please check out their website for all the details!
and i have these commissions to work on:
two sweet kitties, buttercup and lulu.
so i am drawing like a crazy woman trying to get it all done!! i may have to forgo my nightly viewing of the big bang theory!! maybe!
