Harry and the annual fundraiser!

This will be my 7th year creating a drawing for the California Wildlife Center in Malibu CA for their annual fundraiser in September. I can't even begin to tell you how honored I am that I get to do this! I swear every time I see an animal released back into the wild (almost 5000 last year) by CWC I get a lump in my throat, I am so thrilled by how all these amazing staffers and volunteers have helped yet another animal in Southern Cal!!!

I am soo honored to be on my 6th year of creating a drawing for the California Wildlife Center for their annual Wild Brunch fundraiser. Each year Victoria, CWC's principle officer sends me oodles of photographs of their patients for me to choose from. But as soon as I saw the photo of this baby coyote sitting inside a large carrier I stopped looking and  knew that this little guy was going to be this years drawing!! My heart melts every time I look at him!!

The Wild Brunch fundraiser is held every September in Malibu, CA. Please check out their website and attend if you can...but if you can't make it, donations are always welcomed!!! They are the nicest people and do such amazing work rehabilitating so many different species of animals!

Now I have to get cracking and send it out!!

i LOVE red dots!

i finally finished the hawk piece for California Wildlife Center...phew...i cut it very close again this year! just so busy with the cat commissions and two gallery shows...and then there was my vacation!!

i actually got some photos of saturday nites reception at the TAG Gallery in Santa Monica. i...ah...forgot to put the usb card in my camera for the gallery reception the week before...coulda kicked myself for that one! but the fabulous news is that i sold Tag O' War that evening...yay!! i am still floating from it! i don't know why...it just really makes me very happy! it feels like i am finally getting out of my own way and creating some good progress in my art career this year! i think my desires are finally superseding all my fears and resistances! but i don't want to jinx things...just am feeling very, very grateful right now!!

see the red dot to the right!! :-)

oodles of drawings to work on!

well...i got pretty far (finished the lower right corner) but now this drawing is put on hold for awhile so i can work on this:

this is my 6th year of donating a drawing to the California Wildlife Center for their annual auction. each year i create a portrait of one of their rescue animals...this year it's a hawk! they will be auctioning it off at their annual wild brunch fundraiser on september 16th. please check out their website for all the details!

and i have these commissions to work on:

two sweet kitties, buttercup and lulu.

so i am drawing like a crazy woman trying to get it all done!! i may have to forgo my nightly viewing of the big bang theory!! maybe!

accelerating

covering ground pretty fast considering i hardly drew this week...you know...life gets in the way!!

after i shot off a few photos of my drawing i turned around, looked up and saw diamond up in the crook of our twisty oak tree, so of course i had to snap a photo (7) of her!!
